Casdiredux 2811: reducing agent for dyeing and printing
Reducing Agent
Organic reducing agent, four times stronger than sodium hydrosulfite, for dyeing, reduction clearing, stripping and bleaching.
Properties
- Chemical nature: organic reducing agent
- pH (1% solution): 3.0 - 4.0
- Solubility: low at neutral pH, improves at alkaline pH
- Compatibility: with reducing agents and with acid and alkaline products
- Stability: stable between pH 3 and 12; the solution is stable in storage and on the fabric
- Not hygroscopic and does not cake
- Does not give off the sulfurous gases of sodium hydrosulfite, and much less product is needed
- Storage: at least 12 months in the closed original container, in a dry, cool, ventilated place. It can self-heat: keep away from moisture, heat and ignition sources
Uses
- Reducing vat and sulfur dyes. With indanthrene-type vat dyes an anti-reducing agent is needed to prevent over-reduction
- Reduction clearing after disperse dyeing
- Stripping and removal of unwanted shades in dyeing
- Stripping of vat dyes
- Bleaching of wool and silk
- Paper industry: bleaching and de-inking of recycled paper
