Chemical products for industrial laundries: enzymes, stone wash and denim finishing

Laundry processes and the products for each step

In garment laundries, especially for denim, each step of the wash needs a different product. These are the most common processes and the products from our catalog used in each one.

• Desizing: removes the starch from the fabric before washing so that abrasion and color come out even. It is done with a thermostable alpha-amylase. Product: Casdizyme Prime.
• Enzymatic stone wash: cellulase wears down the indigo surface and gives the color contrast with less pumice stone or none at all. Our neutral cellulase works at room temperature and carries its own buffer to keep the bath between pH 6 and 8. Product: Valumax A 838.
• Bio-polishing: neutral cellulase removes fuzz and pills from the garment surface. It works between pH 5 and 8, so the bath pH does not need adjusting. Product: Cellusoft CR-COL.
• Peroxide removal: after peroxide bleaching, catalase breaks the residue down into water and oxygen with no extra rinse. This matters when the garment is dyed afterwards. Product: Terminox Ultra 50L.
• Softening: silicone softeners give the final hand of the garment on natural fibers and blends. Product: Casdisoft Sil Conc.
• Water repellency: for garments that must repel water, a fluorine-free repellent is applied by exhaustion or by padding. Product: Casdishield DFF.
