Casdiredux 2811: kaolin and white clay bleaching
Ferric iron gives kaolin a yellow or reddish tone and lowers its brightness. Reductive bleaching turns that iron into its ferrous form, which is soluble and leaves with the wash and filtration water.
CASDIREDUX 2811 can replace sodium hydrosulfite in this step. Because it is a stable powder, it is easier to store and dose. Dose, pH and temperature are set with a lab test on your clay, comparing brightness with your current process.
CASDIREDUX 2811 is an organic reducing agent supplied as a white crystalline powder that does not absorb moisture or cake. The same job takes a smaller amount than sodium hydrosulfite.

- Solubility: low at neutral pH, improves in alkaline conditions
- Not hygroscopic, does not cake
- Storage: at least 12 months in the original container, between 0 and 25 °C, tightly closed after each use
