Casdifoam D: foam in amine units and drilling muds
In the amine units of refineries and gas plants, heavy hydrocarbons, solids and degradation products make the amine solution foam. The foam carries amine over, lowers column efficiency and can force a cut in throughput. In water-based drilling muds, foam traps air and changes the mud density.
CASDIFOAM D is injected in low, controlled doses, because too much antifoam can stabilize foam instead of breaking it. The dose is set with lab foam tests on your amine solution or your mud.
CASDIFOAM D is a non-ionic silicone emulsion, stable in acid and alkaline conditions and at high temperature. It can be used as supplied or diluted in water; once diluted, use it within 24 hours.
